Water Kefir Soda

Once you’ve tried kefir soda, you’ll never want to drink normal soda again! Kefir soda has all the health benefits of water kefir, plus effervescence and delicious infused flavors. This recipe for watermelon, cucumber and mint kefir soda will make for the perfect summer beverage, with luscious fruit flavors and a nice zesty tang!

Equipment

  • Ferment safe bottle with lid
  • Cheesecloth or strainer
  • Blender

Ingredients
  

  • 24 Oz. Finished water kefir
  • 1 tbsp Sugar
  • 1 cup Chopped watermelon
  • ¼ cup Sliced cucumber
  • 4-5 Mint leaves

Instructions
 

  • Combine watermelon, cucumber, mint, sugar, and 1 cup of water kefir in your blender. Blend until smooth.
  • Strain through a strainer or cheesecloth. Discard solids. 
  • Combine fresh juice and the rest of your kefir into your ferment-safe bottle. Seal the bottle and store it in a warm spot for 1-2 days, burping at least twice per day to release pressure.
